Description

Tron is prototype #9 for The Automata Project. Tron is a display of two straight tooth spur gears in the spur arrangement with 10 teeth, a 1:1 ratio. The gear movement is displayed between two bases created by using radii and tangents. It features slots cut in the base to give it a mechanical look. The handle was designed to match the slots in the base. The gear and the handle are offset from each other so when you spin the handle you see a contrast between the gears, the base and the handle. The center of interest is where the gears mesh and slightly below. I like how the tear drop elliptical slot shows just a little of the gear movement through it.
