The Beginning

I discovered Automata while studying Technology and Engineering Education at Virginia Polytechnical Institute. It was here that I discovered my passion for these intricate and beautiful machines.

Getting Started in Creating Automata Devices

I discovered this passion after taking two classes called Intro to Technology and Engineering Education and Advanced Problems. Furthermore, I studied Materials and Processes, where I learned about Design Fundamentals, "Nature, Elements and Principles of Design". It was these experiences that influenced the creation of the Automata Project.

Establishing the Automata Project

As a woodworker, I was always trying to think of something original to create. Following my introduction to these wonderful devices, I decided to start by creating a few prototypes, and The Automata Project was born.

I challenged myself to create eight designs. In a few years I was able to design eight prototypes which I then released to the public.
